- Gold: 10 karat (10K) .417, 14 karat (14K) .585, 18 karat (18K) .750, 22 karat (22K) .917, 24 karat (24K) .999
- Silver: .999 fine, .925 sterling, .900 coin, .800
- Platinum: .950
- Stamps: 10K/417, 14K/585, 18K/750, 925, 950 PLAT (platinum). Gold Filled (GF), Gold Plated (GP), Heavy Gold Electroplate (HGE) and Rolled Gold Plate (RGP) mean plated or filled, not solid.
- Melt: weight in grams ÷ 31.1035 × purity × spot price per troy ounce. pennyweight (dwt) × 1.555 = grams.
