What do I get?
An auction book for the sale: a printable PDF book plus a workbook, delivered before preview day. Every item in the photos is identified, every lot has values, a max bid and a rating.
Which auctions does it work for?
Any auction with photos or a detailed listing: coins and bullion, gold, jewelry and watches, sports cards and collectibles, antiques and art, cars and trucks, boats and trailers, farm equipment, construction and heavy equipment, tools and machinery, estate and household, real estate, and government and surplus sales. Our calendar covers New England today, and we do any auction online by request. Max bids include Connecticut sales tax where it applies.
What do CHASE, MAYBE, CHECK FLOOR and SKIP mean?
CHASE: worth going after, up to the max bid. MAYBE: worth a look at the right price. CHECK FLOOR: needs an in-person look at preview. SKIP: not worth your bid at this sale.
What is a max bid?
The most we think a lot is worth bidding, after the buyer's premium and Connecticut sales tax where it applies, using our standard margin (want a different one? just tell us). Max bids are a ceiling, not a target.
Do you flag standout items in the photos?
Yes. Auction photos show more than any listing can describe, so we identify every item in the photos and flag the standouts.
How are values checked?
Each item gets a melt value, a market value from comparable sales, and a realistic sell price. Every key value and max bid is confirmed by at least two independent sources, the book shows the check count, and lots with fewer than two are marked low confidence. Every value and max bid carries a confidence rating. Graded items get Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) or Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) certificate lookups, and CHASE and MAYBE lots include sold comparable-sale links.
Is this an appraisal?
No. This is an estimate, not an appraisal.
Do you inspect the items?
No. We work from the listing and its photos. We have not inspected the items, so verify at preview. CHECK FLOOR and low-confidence lots come with a preview-day checklist.
Are you affiliated with any auction house?
No. Auction Advantage, a product of AI Business Intelligence, is independent and is not affiliated with any auction house, auctioneer, bank or auction platform.
